In this paper, the equations of motion are described in the form of distributed parameter systems and its discretized form by using the finite element analysis. the modal analysis in both domains has been performed by augmenting the eigenvalue dependent boundary conditions into the governing equations and some numerical examples of the eigensolution are added with accompanying the experimental results. The complex state vector is introduced in order to effectively describe the isotropic support conditions. Through the numerical and experimental examples, the effects of gyroscopic moment, support flexibility and internal damping in vibrational behavior of rotating structures are studied.
