      The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the policy establishment to promote owner-occupation of the young people by identifying the housing situation and the burden level for housing of the young people. The data are the data of the housing situation survey of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2017. The analysis content is socio-demographic characteristics, economic characteristics, residential situation, and residential burden level. The analysis method is frequency, mean, crosstab and ANOVA using SPSS 24.0. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Most of the household heads of the young people in the household were male, and most of them were 30 years old. The education level was higher than university graduation, marriage status was mostly marriage. The number of households was more than two. This is because self-owned households buy homes after marriage. 2) The proportion of residents in the capital area is low and the proportion of residents in the province area is high. This seems to be due to the difference in housing prices between capital and provincial areas. Housing type was mostly apartment. 3) Satisfaction with current housing was 3.12. Satisfaction with the present condition of the house is more than 2.5 points in all items. 4) Most of the purchasing methods purchased ready-made houses. The methods of funding were self-financing, loans by financial institutions, and gratuities such as parents and relatives. They were feeling a little burdened by the repayment of the loan. They needed a housing support program. The housing support programs needed were housing loan fund support, publicly-sold housing supply, housing consultation and information provision, housing improvement, remodeling and loan support.
