기혼 여성의 경제활동과 출산 여부에 따른 차이 분석 = Differences of Married Women by Work Status and Childbirth

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 여성가족패널을 이용해 우리나라의 일-가정 양립정책과 배우자의 가사분담이 여성의 경제활동과 출산에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 직장에서 출산전후휴가를 제공할 때 출산 확률이, 육아휴직을 제공할 때 여성의 경제활동 참여확률이 증가하였다. 부부 전체의 주당 가사노동시간 중 남편의 가사노동시간이 차지하는 비율은 여성의 근로 확률과만 양의 관계에 있었다. 시간제 일자리에 종사할 경우 여성의 근로지속성이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났으나, 자발적으로 시간제 일자리를 선택했다면 출산 확률은 상승하였다. 이러한 실증 결과와 연계해 일-가정 양립과 남성의 가사참여를 제고하기 위한 정책방향을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Using the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families, this study investigate the effects of the work-family balance policy and sharing of the housework with a spouse on the fertility rate and women’s labor force participation rate. The results show that maternity and parental leave respectively increase the probability of giving birth and women’s participate rate in the labor market. The proportion of the husband’s working hours of the total housework hours by a married couple was in positive relation to the probability of wife’s taking work. Women are less likely to continue working when they have part-time jobs. However, the probability of having children increases only when the part-time work is voluntary. Implications for the related policies further follow.
