In recent years, electronic devices have become lighter, thinner, shorter, smaller, and more multifunctional, leading micro drilling technology to become more sophisticated. In order to meet these demands on electronics, this paper proposes a drilling machine tool with a counterbalance vibration control mechanism. A finite element analysis model of the machine tool is created and analysis results are compared with vibration measurement experiment results. Finally, the vibration characteristics of the resulting machine tool equipped with a vibration damping mechanism are examined. Model validity was confirmed by comparing analytic and experimental results. Results show that mounting this mechanism on a drilling machine tool reduces vibration, improves hole position accuracy, and reduces wear and chipping of the drill tip surface.
