The purpose of this study is to analyze role playing, which is widely used in the area of training and education. Therefore, Wohlking & Gill's method-centered role playing model has been adapted as a role model. The functional phases of method-centered role playing consist of 1) establishing training objectives, 2) the warm-up, 3) the enactment, and 4) the post-enactment discussion.
The distinct characteristic of method-centered role playing is a specific structure and approach to deal with job-related situation. Therefore, the case of handling customer calls in the office has been chosen to describe the role of teacher in the steps of role playing.
The objective of this thesis is to describe how the role-playing technique can be used by teachers to assist participants to handle more effectively in interpersonal problems that occur in business situation, and to show how the process of role playing can be implemented in the classroom.
