In recent years, time triggered protocols have been developed for time critical applications such as x-by-wire system. In this respect, the FlexRay protocol is likely to become the de-facto standard for in-vehicle network. FlexRay protocol is consist of the static segment which follows a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) scheme, and the dynamic segment which adopts a FTDMA(Flexible Time Division Multiple Access) scheme. Each segment has dissimilar network utilization on the message transmission. In this paper, we study the scheduling problem of the message assignment to the static segment and dynamic segment. We define a network utilization by mean of performance index and derive an integer linear programming(ILP) problem that maximizes the network utilization.
