      In the period from 1970 to 1989, the rate of self-sufficiency of soybean in the Korea declined from 86.1 percent to 18.3 percent because the planted area end the production decreased, though soybean demand has continually increased. Specially, the internatoinal competitions power of soybean is the state of low because the farm household selling price of domestic product soybean is 4.2 times as high as an international price. Therefore, the raise of international competition power was groped through the production cost retrenchment. First, the yield per 10a increased 76 percent from 165 kg to 286 kg by the development of cultivated skill. Second, labor hours curtailed 86 percent from 93.8 hours to 12.7 hours per 10a through the large size mechanization working system. Hence, the production cost reduced 25 percent by the reduction of labor hours. Third, A selling price of farm household became low from 907 won to 485 won per kilogram so the production cost of soybean retrenched 58 percent through the development of cultivated skill and the working system of a large size mechanization. Therefore, a selling price of the domestic farm household became low from 4.3 times of international price to 2.3 times.
