광주시내 일부 종합병원 환자를 대상으로 한 기생충 감염 현황 = Present Satus of Parasite Infection in Kwang-ju Area Hospital Patients

The results of parasitologic examination in 2679 patients of Kwang-ju area hospital during 8 months in 1988 from March t o October a r e summerized as follows :
1. The infection rate of intestinal parasite of total was 7.54% among 2679 patients and 8.62% in male, 5.96% in female. The infection rate of Ascaris iurnbricoides was 0.96 %, Trichuris trichiura 1.94 % , Clonorchis sinensis 4.52 %, Enterobius verrnicularis 0.07 % and Tenia species 0.11 %.
2. The infection rate of intestinal parasite according t o age group was the highest 40-49 years old with 12.72%. Of these, Ascaris Iunbricoides was the highest in 20-29 years old with 1.39%, Trichuris trichiura 10-19 years old with 3.52%, Clonorchis sinensis 40-49 years old with 9.16%.
3. The infection rate of intestinal parasite according t o sex was the highest in male 40-49 years old with 13.93% and in female 30-39 years old with 13.79%. Of these, Clonorchis sinensis was the highest in male with 6.04%, and Trichuris trichiura was the highest in female with 2.48%.
