SARS-CoV-2 is an RNA virus that causes acute respiratory disease and has been sweeping the world since late 2019. Methods for diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 include direct method to detect the virus’ RNA or protein and indirect method to detect IgM and IgG antibodies produced after infection. Cross-verification of different diagnostic methods should be needed to reduce the false-negative results. With the advent of new methods such as the Drive-thru test, the possibility of introducing an POC (point-of-care) diagnostic system is increasing. In the post-Corona era, it is expected that the POC diagnostic system for non-face-to-face care will be introduced in earnest. Many new diagnostic systems will emerge with features such as closed-analytic system, easy to use, and short reaction time.
