      The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of a 20week aerobic and resistance excercise training in 30 elderly women (15 subjects of an exercise group and 15 subjects of a non exercise group) over age 65 randomly selected.
      In the case of the exercising group, VO₂max increased 8.5㎖ㆍ㎏?¹ㆍmin?¹(4.3%). VO₂AT increased 4.8㎖ㆍ㎏?¹ㆍmin?¹(30.9%), HRmax increased 11.9 bpm (7.9%), HRAT 4,4bpm(3.6%), and VEmax increased 11.7 ℓㆍmin?¹(2.5%) (p<.05) after 20 weeks of aerobic and resistance excercise program. Diastolic blood pressure(SBP)and maximal voluntary ventilation(MVV) greatly increased. From this data I concluded.
      An aerobic and resistance exercise program was carried out for an extended period of time with 18 elderly women who did not exercise on a daily basis. As a result their cardiovascular function ,was improved. These positive changes suggests the necessity of regular active exercise and offers possible excercise programs for elderly women.
