국문 초록 (Abstract)

조선과 류큐, 류큐와 조선의 관계사를 파악하고자 할 때, 중국이나 일본이라는 타국, 그리고 각국의 국내에 존재한 복수의 거점 지역을 다방향적으로 이은 교류망, 다시 말해 다극적인 이동과 월경(越境)의 동태를 널리 내다보고, 이러한 거대한 판의 일부로서 성립되어 온 조선과 류큐, 류큐와 조선의 관계를 가능한 다면적으로 그려볼 필요가 있다. 이러한 전망 아래, 본고에서는 우선 일본의 중세 문학에 기술된 도해(渡海) 양상과 그 의의를 대해, 이러한 표현이 생겨난 기반에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 특히 16세기 문예에 초점을 맞출 것이다. 한편 16세기 말부터 17세기 초까지 조선·류큐는 모두 일본과의 관계에 있어서 전쟁·침략이라는 사태와 직면하게 되었다. 일본으로부터 조선이나 류큐에 군사 목적으로 도해한 사람들 중에서는 귀국 후에 스스로 도해 체험·전쟁 체험을 각서(覺書, 오보에가키)로 정리한 이가 적지 않다. 그들의 각서는 종래에는 역사 사료로서 이용되었지만, 최근 필자가 분석해온 것에 의하면 적잖이 문예로서의 측면을 가지고 있어 문학사적인 관점에서 독해를 필요로 하는 실로 흥미로운 자료군이라고 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 도해기로서의 색채를 포함하고 있는 각서에 주목하여 그 문예로서의 측면을 재확인했다. 그리고 가장 마지막에 지금까지는 주로 근세의 문제로서 취급되어 온 ``표류기``에도 시야를 넓혀, 그 구체적인 표현을 통해 이른 바 도해기(渡海記)·표류기(漂流記) 류가 시대를 넘어 내재해 오고 있는 바다와 해역에 관련된 표현의 계통에 대해 언급했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

When attempting to understand the history of Choson-Ryukyu and Ryukyu-Choson relations, there is a need to widely observe the multipolar migrations and border-crossing movements (i.e. the networks linking important existing regions within China, Japan and other countries in multiple directions) and to describe Choson-Ryukyu and Ryukyu-Choson relations in multiple facets as one part of this enormous field. Under this network, this study seeks to explore the facets of "traversing the seas" and its significance described in Japanese medieval literature and the foundation on which this expression was created. It will look at 16th century literature in particular. In addition, from the late 16th century to the early 17th century, both Choson and Ryukyu faced invasions and wars in their relations with Japan. Among those who traversed the seas as soldiers to Choson and Ryukyu, there were many who wrote of their traversing and war experiences after returning to Japan in their memoirs (覺書). Although their memoirs are traditionally used as historical sources, many of those analyzed by the author have literary aspects and from a literary history perspective, are actually interesting texts that demand reading. This study paid attention to memoirs that included "traversing the seas" accounts and reconfirmed their literary aspects. And lastly, broadening the scope of this category to include "drifting over the seas" accounts, which have mainly been dealt with as a modern problem, it references the system of concrete expressions transcending the period concerning the seas inherent in the so-called "traversing the seas" and "drifting over the seas" accounts.
