의사소통장애 성인을 위한 국내외 보완대체의사소통 연구 동향 = Research Trends of AAC for Adults with Communication Disorders

국문 초록 (Abstract)

의사소통장애인을 위한 국내의 보완대체의사소통 연구는 지금까지 주로 학령기의 중증장애아동에게 집중되어왔으나, 국외의 선행연구들은 다양한 장애유형의 성인들에게 AAC를 적용한 결과를 보고하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 십여 년 간의 국내외 선행연구를 조사하여 AAC가 활용된 연구참여자의 다양한 장애유형, 학교나 가정만이 아닌 다양한 성인기 삶의 영역에서의 적용 범위와 연구주제들을 분석함으로써, 국내 AAC연구의 확대 및 발전을 위한 시사점을 찾고자 하였다. 18세 이상의 성인 혹은 의사소통 파트너를 대상으로 한 연구 47편을 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의사소통장애 성인에게 AAC를 적용한 연구의 유형은 실험연구가 23편으로 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였다. 둘째, 연구 참여자별 분석결과 장애당사자로서는 지체장애인을 대상으로 한 연구가 23편으로 가장 많았고, 의사소통파트너로서는 주간프로그램이나 시설의 스텝을 대상으로 한 연구가 5편으로 가장 많았으며, 장애당사자와 의사소통 파트너를 함께 대상으로 한 연구는 총 4편이었다. 셋째, 연구주제는 4가지로 의사소통 교수전략, AAC 사용자의 개인·사회생활, AAC 기기 사용 경험, 고용에 관련된 내용으로 나뉘었으며, 이 중 의사소통 교수전략에대한 연구가 23편으로 가장 많았다. 연구 결과에 기반하여 국내 AAC 연구에 대한 논의 및 제언이 이루어졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In Korea, augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) researches for individuals with communication disorders were reported to focus on the school-age students with severe disabilities, while many studies in overseas have dealt with more diverse type of disabilities and age range.
The purpose of this paper is to provide an implication of future research directions by delineating and analyzing domestic and foreign literatures covering people with various types of disorder in environments not restricted to school or household.
The following is analysis of 47 papers regarding adults over 18 years of age and communicative partners. First, the experimental research, with 23 of 47 papers total, ranked the highest percentage(49.0%) among various types of research applying AAC to adult individuals with communication disorders. Second, the participants of research were classified into three groups to be analyzed: adult with disability, communicative partners and the two former categories studied together.
People with physical disabilities were the most highly studied disability group, and staff of day program/facilities were the frequently targeted communication partner group. Third, the research topics were analysed into categories such as communication instructional strategy, individual and community life of people using AAC. Among all the topics, communication instructional strategy was the most commonly covered by 23 papers. Implications for Korean AAC studies were discussed.
