      The purpose of this study is to suggest how the Focus on Form approach might be applied to the Korean EFL context for beginning learners of English. Previous applications of the Focus on Form approach have involved a meaningful amount of exposure to English in immersion programs, or have dealt with learners who have sufficient skills to produce sentence level expressions. In the EFL context however, there is a need for a program for beginners that develops communicative skills and grammar competence at the same time. This paper therefore suggests the following: (1) learners should be provided with four basic sentence structures simultaneously, in order that they might infer the structure patterns; (2) consciousness-raising techniques should be utilized; (3) learners should be helped to understand when and why various language features are used; and (4) they should be given opportunities to compare contrastive structures.
