This study presents inelastic nonlinear analysis of under-tension system. Under-tension system, composed of beam, cable and strut elements, reduces deflection and weight of the structure, since the moment is partially eliminated by cable and strut elements. The behavior of under-tension system is seriously influenced by length and number of the strut, intial strain of the cable. The longer span of the structure is, the more influenced the nonlinear behavior gets.
This study is performed with the effect of pretension value and material yield stress. Dead and live loads are applied on the beam element and initial strains are applied in the cable. In this study, the behavior of under-tension system is analysed by ADINA based on FEM
