지적 자본이 제품 및 공정혁신에 미치는 영향 : 관계 자본의 조절효과 = The Effect of Intellectual Capital on Product and Process Innovations : Moderate Effect of Relational Capital

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 제품혁신과 공정혁신에 대한 지적 자본 구성요소들의 역할을 실증적으로 보여준다. 문헌연구를 통해 인적 자 본, 구조적 자본, 관계 자본으로 분류될 수 있는 지적 자본의 구성요소들 간 관계에 대해 가설을 수립하고, 중소기업 제 조업체 표본을 이용하여 위계적 회귀모형 분석을 수행한다. 분석 결과, 내부 역량인 인적 자본과 구조적 자본은 제품혁신과 공정혁신에 대체적으로 긍정적 작용을 하는 것으로 나타난다. 조절효과 분석에서는 제품혁신의 경우, 구조적 자본의 수준에 따라 외부 협력 관계 수준을 적절히 조절하는 것이 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다. 공정혁신의 경우, 구조적 자본역량과 관계 자본 역량을 모두 활용하는 것이 중요함을 시사한다. 한편 관계 자본과 제품 및 공정혁신 간 분석 결과는 일관적이지 못한 것으로 나타나고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We empirically show the role of components of intellectual capital on product and process innovations. Based on literature review, we hypothesize the relationship among components of intellectual capital such as human, structural and relational capitals and then an empirical analysis using a sample of small and medium manufacturers is carried out. The empirical findings suggest that on the whole, human and structural capitals that can be considered internal capabilities, positively influence product and process innovations. Furthermore, a hierarchical regression test for moderating effects are conducted, considering relational capital as an external capability. In case of effects on product innovation, the findings imply that it is more effective for a firm to moderate the capability of external collaboration relations (that is, relational capital) in relation to the level of capability that possesses structural capital. For process innovation, the findings reveal that it is important for a firm to utilize both structural capital and relational capital. However, the relationship between relational capital and product and process innovations shows no consistency of results.
