대공황 전후 후버와 루스벨트의 사회경제 정책 비교

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper compares the socio-economic policies before and after the Great Depression. Even though Hoover emphasized the coordinating role of government in the lassiz-faire era, his pro-business attitude has further distorted the economic structure. His idea of self-government crippled the government branches to check the abuse of powerful companies. Those policies temporarily enhanced the economic growth, but the growth was not sustainable and led to the Great Depression.
Roosevelt emphasized the importance of fair market and of balancing individual consumers, laborers and stockholders against the powerful businesses. His reform policies did not shorten the Great Depression period, but lay a cornerstone for the sustainable growth after the war.
After 1980's, the pro-business administrations set back the Roosevelt reform policies. It will make a good history lesson that the economic crisis happened as the economic system got just like one back in 1920's.
