This study uses non-structural interviews with the principals of preschool institutes, teac, and parents to analyze the building and using process of preschool institute homepage. Based on that, it intends to find the potential structure and characteristics of the processes.
It uses non-directional interviews with, subjects of this study, 29 principals, 35 teachers and 25 parents, of the total 30 institutes which consists of 5 private kindergartens, 2 public kindergartens, 5 private nurseries and 3 national/public nurseries that have built homepage of their own, and as many institutes as the above that does not have homepage.
Besides non-directional interviews, reporting and recording is used for what interviewees provide. For institutes with homepage, it searches the homepage to get information prior to visiting them. Then, it analyzes the potential structure and characteristics of it through interviews with principals, teachers, and parents.
As a results, it finds two contrary structures and characteristics of the homepage of preschool institutes, namely building voluntarily to use and building by social demand.
From the two aspects of it, it finds the depths of principals, teachers, and parents that is potential and does not constructed in the actual field and summarized as follows;
According to a principals view of the characteristics of building homepage voluntarily, ⓛ cope actively with the flow of the information age ② apply efficiently to connection to the home using inter-conversation ③ advertise and improve the image of the institute ④ strengthen the competitiveness to other institutes ⑤ use actively common information. For teachers, the structure and characteristics are to ① consult with parents swiftly ② activate education on the internet using homepage ③ activate parents education through homepage ④ share with and correspond to information, while for parents, it is to ① consult mutually with institute swiftly ② observe preschoolers lives ③ make fathers participate highly in institutes ④ share and correspond information.
In case of building homepage by social demand, for principal, it has the following structure and characteristics: ① coping with the flow of the information age ② demand of parents ③ demand of teachers ④ demand of community, etc. Whereas for teachers, it is as follows; ① demand of principal ② demand of children ③ demand of parents, for the structure and characteristics from the position of parents, ① learning connected to institute and home ② childrens positive interests ③ demand for observing preschoolers lives.
Focusing on the findings, we can discuss as belows. The core issues of the argument related to the findings is to enhance education and efficiency in building and using homepage accordingly.
In the general aspects of building and using homepage, it has been fulfilled under what it should be educative timely, namely education information. Now that preschool institutes homepages should be used toward more educative and efficient directions, beyond building itself for advertisement, it will require the cooperation among principals, teachers, and parents.
Therefore, it can suggest research and practical task belows, that be done by principal of preschool institutes, teachers, parents and children, as well as the government supporting them, research institutes and related groups.
First, it needs the development and enforcement of alternative policy by the government and local government, which can support the information of preschool institutes financially.
Second, in principals aspect, a principal should have information mind to help homepage build and use efficiently.
Third, in teachers aspects, teachers are in important position for using homepage. To consider more efficient plans, ①it need to give teachers incentive and practical training. ② it requires in-service training for teachers. In other words, it need to arrange measures institutionally that teachers can finish in the process of in-service training, study, promotion, etc. ④ it can be useful for developing application capacity through assessment after information training.
Fourth, in parents aspects, it can help the information of institutes advance through the help using parents resources.
Fifth, in childrens aspects, it need to study, develop and apply program for childrens easy use.
Further, it will lead advanced education for the globalization for the 21st century by setting up sisterhood relationship to abroad preschool institutes via homepage on the internet, reflecting globalization trend.
