      Objective: This study was performed analysis of oral malodor components following by subjective cognition of oral malodor and oral state in order to provide basic data for oral malodor prevention and establish a device to efficiently eliminate oral malodor and analyze the factors that affect the oral malodor.
      Methods: 98 adults(M=68, F=30) were participated who visited at the Dental Clinic in Youngdong, on the period of the March to Jun in 2011.
      The obtained results, through the oral examination, oral malodor check and interview, Individually, were as followings.
      Results: According to the ammonia level was a high relationship between sex, CPI, tongue plaque, DMFT index which were statistically significant(p<0.05). Hydrogen sulfide and Methyl mercaptan level was a relationship between subjective cognition of halitosis, number of brushing, CPI and DTFT index(p<0.05). Dimethyl sulfide was a relationship between age, CPI, GI, FT rate, DMFT index(p<0.05).
      Conclusions: From the above results, volatile sulfide component was related with the oral hygiene status and caries experience. There were relationship between the periodontal disease and ammonia gas component, hydrogen sulfide, dimethyl sulfide, methyl mercaptan. Considerably high relationship between the tongue plaque and ammonia gas component. which were statistically significant to total oral gas level and oral variables. The status of oral malodor among is considered to bare a close relation with oral environment. such dental cares as the prevention or early treatment of periodontal disease. Should strive for more than individuals as well as to improve the community-wide prevention and early treatment of periodontal disease when planning for the treatment or prevention programs for breath control.
