한국예술의 수평적 사유 읽기 -악기, 음악, 춤을 중심으로- = Reading the lateral thinking of Korean art -Based on musical instruments, music and dance-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to find the identity of Korean art by analytically inferring the origin of Korean art reflecting the horizontal view of world, in other words, systemizing the meanings of the art`s identity and the beauty of Korean culture through in-depth research called the reflection of world view and culture. Our nature, that tries to harmonize with nature and consolidate us with it, makes us think based on monistic view of world. Philosophical thinking, that tries to pursue humanism and realize embracement through universal communication of harmony and balance, is projected in Korean art by reflecting the horizontal view of world. The art of the western world is to realize the ultimate and visible beauty by revealing the true nature of forms, however, in case of Korean art, we should read its fundamental thinking, as it is the product reflecting the static view of the universe of the Orient. The principle of repetition and its differences, and the extinction in the process of growth are the points of creation, and the creation makes the art develop forever by revealing the differences in the process of growing. Therefore, the thinking with the horizontal view of world is a regression form of differences and repetition, however, there could not be the interpretation confined to one form, and we have to see the art as a free communication. As above, the way of reading the lateral thinking of Korean art gave us an answer to the question on how the form of repetitive free-style solo or the beats with a same rhythm, and the continuous dancing steps in accordance with the inhaling and exhaling breaths could give us an artistic impression. Lateral thinking is not a seclusion but a communication that pursues the unrestrictedness of blank space, as it does not have a discrimination of in and out, and reflects the aesthetic nature of Korean art that expresses the attitude of life trying to be adapted to nature, while aiming for peace without any intractableness.
