The Korean History of the 2017 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) will be implemented as the criterion referenced test, and the fixed cut-off scores will be used to classify students’ performance levels. The weakness of the approach based on the fixed cut-off scores, however, is that students’ performance level can be influenced depending on varying test difficulties. On the other hand, another approach called the standard setting is not, and thus the standard setting to obtain cut-off scores should be considered for the CSAT Korean History. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of standard setting method for the CSAT Korean History. The current study especially has examined the application of the bookmark method. In detail, this study has explained the processes of bookmark method step by step with empirical examples, and has shown that the bookmark method could be a promising approach for the criterion referenced test for Korean History test.
