해외 선교지 학교의 교육실습 경험 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기독교 대학의 교사양성 과정에 참여하는 학생들이 해외 학교현장에서의 교육실습을 통해 어떤 경험을 하며 어떤 배움을 얻는지 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 선교지 학교 실습생 대상의 심층 면담과 실습 소감문을 분석한 결과, 해외 실습은 실습생들의 교사 전문성을 키우고, 타문화 인식 및 문화적 다양성에 민감해지는 기회가 되었다. 또한, 해외 실습은 실습생들에게 미래교사로서 더 준비해야 할 영역을 확인하고 소명을 점검하게 하며, 하나님을 신뢰하는 영적인 면의 성장을 경험케 했다. 이러한 성장에는 선교지 학교 교사 공동체의 도움과 역할이 필수적이었다. 도전 영역은 선교지 학교의 설립목적을 반영하면서 어떻게 신앙과 가르침을 통합할 것인가의 질문이었다. 예비 기독교사의 성장을 돕는 선교지 교육실습이 되기 위해서는 실습 전 사전교육을 통해 선교지 국가와 학교의 특성을 소개하여 선교지 교육실습에 대한 기대와 실제 현장 경험 간의 간격을 줄이도록 해야 한다. 나아가 교사교육의 타 교과목에서도 해외 교육현장을 경험하거나 협력하여 미래 기독교사의 역량을 키우고 비전을 확장하는 기회가 제공되어야 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and learning that students gain when they practice teaching in schools abroad. To this end, we conducted in-depth interviews and reviewed their portfolio essays to examine strengths and challenges of the practicum abroad. The advantages of training practicum abroad for pre-service teachers are that they can develop teaching professionalism, increase cross-cultural awareness, and become sensitive to cultural diversity. In addition, pre-service teachers were able to confirm their calling for the teaching profession, identify areas where they need to be further prepared as future teachers, and experience spiritual growth. For this growth, the teacher community at schools abroad played an important role. A challenging area for pre-service teachers is the integration of faith and teaching in mission field schools. The way in which the integration of faith and teaching is realized depends on the circumstances of the country and the purpose of the school in mission field. Therefore, in order to narrow the gap between the expectations and reality of overseas schools, it is necessary to provide pre-training prior to overseas practice. In addition, various support systems must be in place throughout the practice to ensure that students can smoothly adjust to schools abroad. In the future, subjects other than teaching practicum should also provide opportunities to experience mission field schools and help pre-teachers develop global competencies and understand their educational mission.
