아동기 정서적 외상경험이 대학생의 정신건강과 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 = Influences of Childhood Emotional Trauma on Mental Health and Life Satisfaction of University Students : Mediated by Self-esteem

This study was designed to investigate, first, the influences of parents- and social situation-related trauma experiences in childhood on the later mental health and life satisfaction, and, second, the mediation effect by the self-esteem. The subjects were 429 students from 10 universities in the Busan metropolitan city. The results were as follows; Subjects' mental health/life satisfaction was negatively correlated with the parents- and social situation-related emotional traumas experienced in childhood. The influences of parents- and social situation-related trauma experiences in childhood on the later mental health was partly mediated by the subjects' self-esteem, while those on the later life satisfaction was completely mediated by the same. The results imply that the parents- and social situation-related trauma experiences in childhood should be treated seriously at various counseling and educational fields. The limitations and suggestions for further research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동기 부/모 및 사회적 상황에 의한 정서적 외상경험이 대학생의 정신건강과 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보며, 그 과정에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 시도되었다. 부산광역시 소재 10개 대학교에 재학 중인 남녀 대학생 429명을 대상으로 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석, Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 매개효과 검증을 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 아동기 부/모 및 사회적 상황에 의한 정서적 외상은 대학생의 정신건강 전체점수 및 그 하위요소들과 유의한 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동기 부/모 및 사회적 상황의 일부 요소인 대인관계 상황에 의한 정서적 외상은 대학생의 삶의만족도 전체점수 및 그 하위척도들과 유의한 부적 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 아동기 정서적 외상경험이 대학생의 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서 자아존중감은 부분매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 아동기 정서적 외상경험이 대학생의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 자아존중 감은 완전매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 상담학적 함의 및 제한점들이 논의 되었다.
