In this paper, special topics in automatic forging simulation of the automatic multi-stage cold forging processes are studied and the related techniques are presented with their application example. The characteristics of the processes are taken into account with emphasis on the forging simulation. The flow stress of a mild steel SWCH10A in large strain is achieved by using the results of the tensile test. Special frictional conditions of the automatic multi-stage forging processes are considered. The presented approach is applied to developing a near-optimal process for mass production of the inner tube of an automotive part by an automatic multi-stage forging machine.
