샐리포터 감독의 성 담론과 연극적 표현기법의 고찰

The original author ot the movie <Orlando>, Virginia Wolf believed that androgyny makes up male and female not to bring about androgynous contradiction, prejudice, and disharmony by forming spiritual harmony and unity. This is the way to develop the ideal image of future, groping diverse experiences and opportunities. And eventually it is believed as a contribution to hurnanity. The director, Sally Porter, truly presents the androgynous theory throughout her movie, Orlando.
The noticeable thing is that Sally Porter used alienation effect in acting, which is considered as a highly experimental method in a movie. This study is going to focus on the director, Sally Porters theme and the analysis of the specific presenting method.
Androgynous spiritual unity is groped out by subjecting a life of a human being seeking for the 1 throughout 400 years long journey. (This one live 200 years as a female and the other 200 years as a male.) And also， the repeated incongruity of gender (gender inverted for 400 years) in acting purposely intercepts being immersed in the movie unconsciously. Then, in the sense of being used as an instrument for making the clear image of the movie, it is engaged with a having distant effect of Bertolt Brecht, refuses to completely change as an actor in the movie.
Moreover, this can be said as an intended act of opposing the traditional things by the intended changes of sex role. In the movie, Orlando, the director presents the value of harmony and unity, which are not the face-to-face composition by dichotomy. This arbitrary decision and fantasy are presented throughout whole movie, and they create such a unique beautiful space by breaking away from the categories of ordinary life like with some of expressions wruch are crossing of gender, jump of time and space.
