      이 논문은 기존 전략연구의 한계를 극복하는데 기여할 잠재력이 큰 새로운 이론인 프랙티스 관점 전략의 핵심 논지와 가능성, 과제, 그리고 한국 매니지먼트학계에 대한 시사점을 토론한다....

      이 논문은 기존 전략연구의 한계를 극복하는데 기여할 잠재력이 큰 새로운 이론인 프랙티스 관점 전략의 핵심 논지와 가능성, 과제, 그리고 한국 매니지먼트학계에 대한 시사점을 토론한다. 프랙티스는 1970년대 이래 사회철학과 사회학, 인류학, 정치학, 인지심리학등 다양한 사회이론들의 중심이 되어온 이론적 개념으로서 반복 발생하는 행위패턴을 뜻하는데 행위자들이 그 프랙티스를 실제로 수행하는 구체적 상황과 과정에 따라 그의미와 결과가 달라지는 상황화된 행위를 말한다. 프랙티스 개념을 중심으로 전략현상을 이해하고 분석하며 설명하는 프랙티스 관점 전략이론은 유럽 경영학계를 중심으로 10여년 전에 형성되었고 현재는 글로벌 전략학계의 가장 중요한 새로운 동향으로 인정받고 있다. 이 새로운 전략이론은 전략의 수립과 실행이 각 상황마다 조직이나 사회적 프랙티스 들에 의해 가능해지거나 제약받고 혹은 다른 의미를 가지게 되는지를 설명하며, 동시에 이런 상황화된 행위들이 어떻게 조직이나 사회적 프랙티스에 영향을 미치고 변화시키며 또는 새로운 프랙티스를 생성하는지를 설명한다. 프랙티스 관점 전략은 그 이론적 기반을 기존 주류 전략이론에서 헤게모니를 행사해온 경제학적 관점의 방법론적 개인주의를 넘어서 최근 다양한 사회이론 분야들에 걸쳐 폭넓고 깊은 영향을 미쳐온 프랙티스에 두고 있기 때문에 앞으로의 발전여부에 따라 전략분야를 넘어서 매니지먼트 분야와 경영학 전체에 획기적으로 기여할 가능성이 높다. 특히 프랙티스 관점 전략은 높은 이론과 개념적 유연성을 가지고 있으며 메타이론적 성격이 강하기 때문에 글로벌 학문공동체 수준에서의 공통의 언어로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 각 사회나 역사적 전통의 특수성을 이론형성에 효과적으로 반영할 수 있어서 한국적 경영이론을 찾고 있는 한국 매니지먼트학계의 발전에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다

      This paper reviews and discusses the central arguments, possibilities, challenges, and implications of “Strategy As Practice” (SAP), which is a theoretical innovation developed mainly by the groups of European management scholars.
      “Practice,” which has served as a key theoretical concept in the fields of social philosophy, sociology, anthropology, political science, and cognitive psychology, refers to recurrent patterns of actions that have differing natures and consequences depending on concrete situational contexts. SAP inquires how strategic actions are enabled, constrained, interpreted, and varied by social practices surrounding strategic actors, and also how these situated strategic actions reshape those social practices. Since SAP draws upon diverse social theories beyond the narrow perspective of economics-based methodological individualism, which has been the foundation of existing strategy theories, it has potential to make radical contributions to the field of strategy and management studies. Especially considering the theoretical and conceptual flexibility of practice perspective, SAP is expected to contribute enormously to the development of K-management theories by enabling both universalism and particularism in theorizing.
