무선 인터넷 플랫폼을 기반으로 한 홈 네트워크 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 = A Study On The Development Of A Home Network System Based on the Wireless Internet Platform

Cell phones are very handy to carry and easy to use, so they are suitable for the remote control of a home network system. Therefore, the cell phone which has the WIPI platform is used as the remote control in this system.
In this paper, we have designed a home network system based on the WIPI( Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability). WIPI was proposed by the Mobile Platform Special subcommittee of the KWISF(Korea Wireless Internet Standardization Forum) as a standard specification for the mobile platform. It solves the problem of compatibility which has previous heterogeneous wireless Internet platforms because it guarantees the interoperability of various platforms and is independent from hardware.
The system consists of three parts – a server, a client, and a simulator, and all parts are developed using the JAVA. The developed system may offer the convenience to the people, because people can control household appliances anytime, anywhere by the cell phones, if it can use the wireless Internet.
