In the past, the roll of company was perceived as a economical roll. However it is perceived as a part of society to be responsible for general conditions such as the satisfaction, environment and welfare of in/external interested parties.
Just as the corporate social responsibilities and consumer’s selection of products influence on fostering images of corporates, CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) is becoming essential. According to survey conducted by FKI (Federation of Korean Industries), the amount disbursed on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is increasing annually. Besides, the installation ratio of department only responsible for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is 70% in 2009. Even though the corporates are trying to deal with CSR activities successfully, it can be know that the factors of hindrance exist internally in corporates.
These factors are shown as the lack of expertise (21.45), lack of manpower in charge (17.5%), lack of information for work relevant to social responsibilities (12.9%).
Actually, the manpower in charge of CSR is not sufficient but it reflects that the considerations for developing and operating programs are increasing.
There have been many preceeding studies on CSR activities. However, there are not many studies on factors for affecting in accordance with types. Therefore, this thesis suggests guidelines for CSR activities by analyzing actual CSR case studies.
In this study, the types of CSR based on preceeding studies are categorized into type of self-sufficiency, type of providing opportunities and type of strategical CSR.
Also, this thesis is processed under the analysis of multiple cases of actual CSR in accordance with the three types based on the factors of concentration, diversity, participation in internal infrastructure, corporate image, reality, durability, consumer relevance, purity and propriety, which are suggested based on preceeding study on factors affecting the CSR.
This study is the study to know the factors in accordance with types of CSR by analyzing the cases of CSR activities. And the following details are able to be had.
Firstly, it can be utilized as an index of evaluation for CSR activities of the corporate. Based on the index of evaluation for categorizing CSR type suggested in this study, the corporate can categorize the CSR activities and it can be the index of evaluation for the operational CSR activities. Secondly, for the corporate who want to share the their benefit to the neglected class of people shall consider the type of self-sufficiency and type of providing opportunities. And corporate shall categorize the method of support into financial support or medical support to apply the factors of success or failure and operate for efficient CSR activities. Thirdly, corporate who pursue benefits connected with competiveness of CSR shall consider the factors of success and failure by applying strategical CSR type and enforce CSR activities by applying field of core competencies of corporate. Forth, durability and reality which are drawn out as a common factor of CSR type are showing that it is effective that corporate continuously enforce CSR activities not enforcing CSR activity as a short-term event
Lastly, this study suggests guidelines in developing and operating CSR activity program through the factors of success and failure in CSR activities which were verified throught the study model.
