Objective: This paper is aimed to share our studies on application of 3D body scan data in ergonomic product design.
Background: 3D body scan data has useful for analysis of size and shape characteristics of human body. But the 3D scan data is often limitedly used in product design due to complex and time-consuming procedure of processing the 3D scan data.
Method: This study briefly introduces methods and technologies for analysis of size, sizing system, shape, shape variation, fit, pressure, and representative model based on numerous 3D body scan database.
Application: The methods and systems have been studied by the present study are expected to be applicable in various researches on ergonomic product design.
