      Phenol resin of resol type has been prepared by addition condensation of phenol and formaldehyde in presence of ammonium hydroxide at 100℃. The specimens of phenol resins filled with Cu, Ni and Zn powder in amounts of 0.5, 2,5,10,15,30 and 50wt% and added with Cu, Ni and Zn ion amounts of 0.025, 0.0625 and 0.125 moles per phenol respectively have been molded and observed on various physical properties.
      It has been obtained following experimental results:
      1) The specimens filled with small amount (2wt%) of Cu and Ni powder fell only a little in compressive strength than higher metal contents And the specimens filled with Cu and Nipowder appear the highest compressive strength at 50 wt%,
      2) The resistivities of phenol resin filled with low metal contents (0.5-5wt%) were higher than pure resin. And the resistivities of phenol resin added with metal ions were Ωㆍ㎝.
      3) Except some of the specimens, the chemical stability of phenol resins filled with metals and ions was decreased and heat resistance of the specimens is not improved.
