헬라語 聖書 英譯 過程에서 나타난 語彙 比較 硏究 = (A) comparative study of english translations of the greek bible-with emphasis on vocabulary

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 희랍어를 영어로 번역하는 과정에서 나타난 복음서의 어휘를 비교한 것이다. 복음서에 나타난 어휘의 의미와 기능의 차이를 밝히므로 3종의 영어성경의 시대적인 특색을 밝히고, 영어 성서를 읽는 사람들이 현대영어와 AV당시에 나타나 영어와의 차이를 이해 하게 되는데 도움이 되기를 바랬다.
3종의 영어성경에 나타난 어휘를 비교하여 약술하면 다음과 같다. AV는 표현이 매우 간결하고 직설적이며, 그 문체가 매우 구체적이고 우아하며 그 문장의 흐름이 유동적이다.
RSV는 AV의 소박하고 고전적인 문체를 그대로 유지하면서 개역하였다. 쉬운 영어를 사용하였고 고풍의 용어를 사용하지 않았다. 그리고 시 부분은 역사적인 의미를 살려 가능한 한 신선한 번역을 하였다. NEB는 AV의 개정역이 아니고 원전에서 현대 영어로 새로 번역하였다. 각 단어는 영어다운 표현으로 모두 바꾸었고 영어다운 표현만을 담고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is a comparison between the vocabularies shown in the process translated Greek lnto English in the Gospels. By showing the differences between meaning and function of different vocabularies, I hoped to show the periodical characteristics of the three kinds of English Bible and to help the readers of English Bible to understand. Modern English and Old English shown on the Authorized version.
The comparison between the bocaburaries shown in the three Kinds of English Bible is outlined in the following. The Authorized Version has a very simple expressinn-its form is very directive, its style is very concrote and elegant, profound, and its sentences seem very rhythmical. The Rivised Standard Version is a translation from the Authorized Version, keeping the simple, classic-al style of the Authorized Version. Easy words were used and archaical words were avoided. And the poem was translated as flesh as possible according to the historical meanings.
The New English Bible iS not a form of free or amended translation from the Authorized Version, but a new translation into modern style English from the Origin Volume. Every word was changed into an English style expression, and it includes English expressions only.
