조애중<SUP>曺愛重</SUP>의 『병자일기<SUP>丙子日記</SUP>』배접지에 기록된 제문과 간찰 = Funeral Address and Letters Recorded on Backing Documents of the『Byung-Ja-Il-Gi』

국문 초록 (Abstract)

『병자일기丙子日記』는 조애중曺愛重이 쓴 한글 일기이다. 작자와 창작연대가 확실한 우리나라 최초의 여성 실기문학實記文學이라고 할 수 있으며, 병자호란에 관한 민간의 체험을 소상하게 표현해내었다는 점에서 문학사적 의의가 크다.
『병자일기』는 저자 사후 370여 년의 세월이 경과되면서 책의 훼손 상태가 매우 심하였다. 책 표지의 부분적 찢어짐과 뒤틀림, 각 장의 물에 의한 얼룩과 변색, 각 페이지 모서리 끝부분의 임시 배접 등의 문제가 있었다. 이에 행복청은 『병자일기』를 보존처리 하였는데, 책의 해체와 보수과정에서 책표지의 배접지로 사용된 다섯 건의 문헌자료가 새롭게 발굴되었다. 다섯 건의 문헌은 조애중의 6대손 남필복南必復 저술의 제문祭文 1편, 남필복의 지인 조사은趙思殷 발신의 한문간찰 1편, 남필복의 사위 이인운李寅運 발신의 한문간찰 1편, 비婢 뉴월의 고목 1편, 발신자 미상의 한문간찰 1편이다.
이 논문은 새롭게 발견된 다섯 건의 문헌을 통해 다음과 같은 사실을 새롭게 알아내게 되었다. 현전 『병자일기』는 저자 조애중의 6대손 남필복이 조애중 사후 140여 년 뒤에, 6대 조비의 한글 일기 중 병자호란 중심으로 기록된 일기를 발췌하여 장책粧冊했다는 사실이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Byung-Ja-Il-Gi(Byung-Ja Diary) is a Korean journal written by Cho Ae-jung, considered to be the first Korean female author of her kind. The Journal, along with its clear date of creation and detailed description of people during the Manchu War in 1636 has strong values and meaning in literature history.
After 370 years since the death of the author, the journal’s exterior was in extremely poor conditions. There were issues with partial tears, distortion, water damage and partial grafting on the edge of the pages’ corners. The National Agency for Administrative City Construction carried out preservation processes on the journal, during which 5 bibliographical documents were newly discovered used for the backing papers. The documents included one funeral address written by Nam Pil-bok, the 6th son of Cho Ae-jung, a Chinese letter written by Cho Sa-eun, a friend of Nam PIl-bok, a Chinese letter by Lee In-un, the son-in-law of Nam Pil-bok, a letter in Korean by Queen Nyu-Wol, and a Chinese letter by an unknown author.
This study deducted the following facts through the 5 newly discovered documents. Byung-Ja-Il-Gi was bound by Nam Pil-bok, the 6th generation son of Cho Ae-jung, by collecting excerpts focused around the Manchu War in 1636 from a Korean journal of his 6th generation grandmother 140 years after her death.
