초등학교 3～4학년군의 도덕교과서에 나타난 다문화 교육 내용 분석 = Content Analysis of Multi-cultural Education in Moral Textbooks of Elementary School 3~4th Grade

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 빠른 다문화 사회로 진입하고 있는 우리나라에서 초등학교 3∼4학년 도덕교과서에 나타난 다문화교육이 교육과정 안에서 잘 구현되고 있는지 살펴보는 것이다.
이를 통하여 최근 주목받고 있는 유럽식 상호문화교육을 분석하여 다문화교육의 보완요소로 기여할 수 있는 부분을 살펴봄으로써 다음과 같은 결론을 제시할 수 있다.
첫째, 도덕 교과서의 사진, 삽화, 이야기의 상황 등이 편견을 가질 수 있도록 선택되었다. 다문화교육은 특정 계층만을 대상으로 하지 않고 전체를 대상으로 실시하는 교육임을 분명히 해 둘 필요가 있다.
둘째, 3, 4학년 도덕과 다문화 관련 상호문화교육 내용 요소 중 문화, 다양성, 협력과 같은 내용들은 교과서에 잘 반영되었다고 생각하였으나 상대적으로 정체성, 평등성이나 반편견에 관한 내용들은 부족하다고 생각하였다. 우리나라의 다문화적 상황을 교사와 학생들 모두 인식할 수 있도록 다양한 실천학습 활동이나 자료가 보충되어야 하겠다.
셋째, 교사들에게 다문화교육과 다른 교육적 대안을 가지고 다문화사회를 진단하는 상호문화교육에 관해 인지할 수 있는 교육 프로그램이나 연수가 구축되어야 할 것으로 보인다.
다만, 상호문화교육 분야의 연구는 그 수가 적고 다양하지 않다는 점에서 한계를 갖는다. 이를 극복하기 위해선 교과서의 내용에 관한 연구와 더불어 앞서 지적한 부분들이 보완될 수 있도록 후속 연구가 진행되어 도덕과교육에서 상호문화교육의 가능성을 지속적으로 탐색해나가야 하며, 초등학교 다문화교육은 교과서 이외에도 관련된 지원정책이나 자료를 통해서도 이루어질 수 있으므로, 실제 학교 수업에서 실행되고 있는 다문화교육 관련 연구가 후속적으로 수행되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine whether the multi-cultural education in elementary school 3~4th grade moral textbook is well implemented in the curriculum of Korea which is entering into a fast multi-cultural society.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the analysis of European intercultural education, which has been attracting attention recently, can contribute to multi-cultural education. Second, the photographs, illustrations, and the situation of the stories of the moral textbooks were chosen to be prejudiced. It is necessary to make it clear that multi-cultural education is not only targeted at a specific subject but is an all subject. Third, I thought that contents such as culture, diversity and cooperation among contents elements of moral education and multi-cultural education related to multi-culturalism in 3~4th grade were well reflected in textbooks, but I thought that the contents about identity, equality and anti-prejudice were insufficient. A variety of practical learning activities and materials should be supplemented so that both teachers and students can recognize the multi-cultural situation in Korea. Fourth, education programs and training should be constructed to recognize teachers' intercultural education that diagnoses multi-cultural society with multi-cultural education and other educational alternatives.
However, research in the field of mutual cultural education is limited in that the number is small and diverse. In order to overcome this problem, it is necessary to pursue the possibility of intercultural education in moral education by continuing researches so that the above mentioned points can be supplemented with studies on the contents of textbooks. In addition, It is necessary to carry out researches related to multi-cultural education which is actually carried out in school class, since it can be done through policy or data.
