艸衣意恂(초의의순)의 茶詩(다시)에 나타난 禪(선)수행의 양상 = The Meaning and Aspect of Zen practice in Dasi[茶詩] of Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師]

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ‘韓國의 茶聖’이라고 일컫는 艸衣意恂의 茶詩를 대상으로, 그 속에 담긴 禪수행의 다양한 양상을 살피는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 초의선사는 한국의 茶論을 정립함으로써 불가의 飮茶 전통을 선수행의 방편으로 다시 자리매김한 인물이다. 초의선사의 茶論은 眞茶와 眞水를 얻어 ‘中正의 道’에 의해 그 둘을 中和시키는 데에 있다. 眞茶를 얻는 과정에는 採茶와 造茶가, 眞水를 얻는 과정에는 品泉과 火候가 있다. 이를 일러 <四門>이라 하는데 이는 모두 四行의 작용을 필요로 한다. 이 과정에서 眞茶와 眞水는 不二妙用의 원리에 의해 運用되며, 神體靈健 역시 不二의 원리에 적용을 받는다. 그리하여 얻어진 妙境은 선의 궁극의 경지와 일치하게 되어 茶禪一如의 경지를 만들어낸다. 즉, 禪의 三昧境에 들어 大悟覺醒하는 길이나, 茶의 三昧境에 들어 妙境을 깨닫는 것이 한 가지라는 것이다. 이러한 경지는 그의 茶詩를 통해 증명되었다. 초의선사의 茶詩는 茶와 차를 통한 교우, 차와 함께 하는 일상사, 그리고 본격적으로 茶禪一如 사상을 표현한 것 등으로 다양하게 전개되고 있다. 그의 茶詩는 당대 문화계의 핵심인물들과 막역한 관계 속에서도 승려로서의 본분을 지켜가는 모습에 대한 증거이기도 했다. 그런 점에서 초의선사는 茶詩를 통해자신의 선수행과 문학적 완성, 그리고 茶道의 茶禪詩一如의 세계를 실천해간 탁월한 인물이었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this dissertation is to analysis about the meaning and Aspect of Zen practice in Dasi[茶詩] of Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師]. Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師] had set up theoretically a tea ceremony[茶道] as writing many Dasi[茶詩]. For his self-training and writing a poem, Tea was very important. In addition to that, he had made efforts to develop Zen practice through drinking Tea. After that time, Drinking Tea is a way for Buddhist monks to learn to access Zen practice. So he had been called a Zen master of tea in Korea. In this paper, I had been diagnosed Dasi[茶詩] of Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師]. Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師] had done a Zen practice through tea. He had become enlightened that a serial process of drinking tea was quietly similar to meditation in Buddhism and tea is the same as Zen[茶禪一如], that is, drinking tea is developed as Zen practice. He had written many poetry which were developed into Daron[茶論], that was, making a good tea[眞茶], boiling a suitable fire[眞水] and fixing tea in law[泡法]. It is a poem which Choiyeusunsa[草衣禪師] had described his friends, his life with tea, especially Zen[茶禪一如] etc. in a figurative Expression through many Dasi[茶詩] just like Dongdasong[東茶頌], Dasinjun[茶神傳]. There are several special features in his Dasi[茶詩]. Those can be accomplished a self-training by getting out of attachment in chade of the root of tea. As a result, he had achieved great prominence as both a writer and a Zen master.
