새로운 교육과정을 위한 초등 사회과 한국지리 단원의 학습 주제 및 내용 개발 - 한강을 따라 가는 우리나라 지리 여행 - = The Development of Subjects and Contents on Korean Geography Unit for New Curriculum of Elementary Social Studies

The purpose of this study is to develop the subjects and contents of the elementary Korean geography unit to be applied to the new curriculum. I assume that the location and the regional learning have weakened as the regional geography learning has disappeared in the elementary geography curriculum. New Korean geography unit includes regional geography unit that, unlike the former regional geography unit, integrates systematic geographical learning contents with regional geographical learning contents so as to increase the possibility of knowledge transfer. Therefore this study suggest `a region defined and connected by river basin` as a region for instruction, then develop the subjects and contents on “Korean Geography Traveling along Han River” as an example of Han River basin, which can cover various natural environments and human environments including the metropolitan area and the military demarcation line.
