    The purpose of this study was to investigate the gait cycle of the old women. The subjects of this study were old women(n=6), and they carried out training program for 12 weeks. Digital video camera was used for recording the gait cycle. Direct linear transformation technique was employed to obtain 2-D position coordinates, cubic spline function was used for smoothing and differentiation and the time, displacement and angle were calculated. The following conclusions were drawn;
    1) The ratio of the stance time was decreased after training and the ratio of the swing time was increased after training.
    2) The step and stride were increased after training.
    3) The angle of the ankle joint before training is larger than after training.
    But the pattern of the ankle joint angle before and after training was similar. The knee joint angle of LHCl(left heel contact) was 156.68±6.09deg. before training, and 159.87±7.23deg. after training. Also The hip joint angle of before and after training was similar. Trunk angle after training was less than that before training. These results indicate that trunk was straighten uprightly, and that gait pattern was stabilized.
