대학신입생의 대학생활적응과 우울과의 관계 = The Relationship of Freshman`s Adjustment of College Life and Depression

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between freshman`s adjustment of college life and depression. Participants were 190 freshman from the three universities located in the Kyungsan city of Kyungpook province. The results were as follows; First, the freshmen were suffered from depression during adjustment of college life. The influencing factors on depression were in order of satisfaction of college life, social adjustment, personal-emotional adjustment, and study results. The 25.8% of freshmen were lightly suffered from depression and 28.9% were definitely suffered from depression. Totally, over the half of freshmen were suffered from depression. Second, freshmen`s life adjustment had significantly influenced on the depression. The satisfaction of college life and social adjustment were negatively related with depression. Third, the most influencing factor on depression during adjustment of college life was self-esteem. These results suggest that a plan and policy to increase the freshmen` self-esteem is needed to improve their psychiatric health.
