전남지역 거주 노인의 시력과 청력의 특성 = The Characteristics of Vision and Hearing for Elderly People in Jeallanam-do

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Purpose: This research was designed to measure that uncorrected vision, hearing, distribution of refraction error and hearing disability of elderly people living in Jeallanam-do. Also to investigate differences by age significance below .05 level, and to analyze correlation between vision and hearing results.
Methods: The elderly of sixty-seven subjects with mean ages were 73.75±7.00 years old, were evaluated vision and hearing tests through visited at clinical center of Dept. of optometry and vision science and Dept. of speech-language pathology and audiology, ○○ university, or participated volunteer service at geriatric welfare center over the course of May through October of 2013.
Result: According to results of vision and hearing evaluation, uncorrected vision and hearing of comparative younger group (under 74 years) were worse than them of older age group (over 75 years) and showed differences by age. Hyperopia were larger than myopia in refraction errors totally, and hearing disabilities were more unfavorable as old age. Correlation of vision and hearing results were showed low level correlation but significantly negative correlation (p<.05).
Conclusion: The functions of peripheral system like vision or hearing were weakened as age increased, but correlations between vision and hearing were not enough high level. Through the research about various aspects of vision and hearing, basic data were prepared for welfare of increasing elderly people population.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

목 적: 본 연구에서는 전남지역 거주 노인의 나안시력, 청력, 근시와 원시 분포 및 청력손실의 정도를 측정하여 유의수준 .05 미만에서 연령대에 따른 차이를 알아보고, 시력과 청력 검사 결과의 상관성을 분석하였다.
방 법: 2013년 5~10월에 걸쳐서 평균 나이 73.75±7.00세의 노인 67명을 대상으로 ○○대학교 안경광학과와 언어치료청각학과 임상 센터에 내원하였거나 노인복지관의 방문 봉사활동을 통해 시력과 청력검사를 시행하였다.
결 과: 시력 및 청력검사 결과, 비교적 나이가 적은 연령군(74세 이하)보다 나이가 많은 연령군(75세 이상)이 나안시력과 청력이 더 나쁜 결과를 보였으며 연령대별 차이를 나타냈다. 굴절이상도는 전체적으로 원시안이 근시안보다 많았으며, 연령대가 증가할수록 청력손실의 정도가 더 심해지는 것으로 나타났다. 시력 및 청력의 상관성을 비교한 결과, 시력과 청력의 상관은 낮으나 유의미한 음의 상관성을 보였다(p< .05).
결 론: 시력이나 청력과 같은 노인의 말초기관 기능은 연령이 증가함에 따라 약해진다는 것을 확인하였으나 청력과 시력의 상관성은 그다지 높지 않았음을 알 수 있었다. 추후 다양한 노인의 시력 및 청력과 관련된 연구를 통하여 늘어나는 노인 인구의 복지를 위한 기초자료가 마련되길 바란다.
