In this study, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composites composed of carbon / epoxy materials were selected as representative materials. First, to carry out the homogenization analysis at the micro level, the effective property value was estimated using the commercial program ANSYS. Mixing law was used to verify the results and tensile test was performed to verify its validity. The tensile test was made according to ASTM 3039, and the test was carried out on a total of seven specimens. On the other hand, the composite material has a dispersion of physical properties due to characteristics such as very strong and anisotropy.
In order to take this into consideration, a probabilistic analysis is performed using tensile test data. The Monte Carlo simulation method was used for the analysis, and the analysis was performed in conjunction with ANSYS and MATLAB. At this time, the total number of samples was 10,000. The variability of the effective properties of the composites was estimated and the effect of dispersion of properties on the properties was evaluated. The sensitivity analysis also confirmed the correlation between mechanical properties and effective physical properties of composites.
