그리스도인 부모의 자녀 교양교육에 관한 소고(小考)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

바울은 “주님의 교양과 훈계로 양육하라”고 말한다. 그러나 바울의 말처럼 그리스도인 부모의 자녀 교육은 간단하고 쉬운 일이 아니다. 그렇다고 해서 그것은 포기하거나, 늦추거나, 양보할 수도 없는 아주 중요한 문제다. 특히 21세기의 다음세대 그리스도인들이 급속히 위축되고 있는 것은 우리 현실에서 더욱 중요한 문제이다. 이에 다음세대를 위한 그리스도인 부모교육에 대한 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 따라서 우리는 단순한 정서나 차세대 기독교 아동교육을 넘어 보다 근본적인 아동교육에 대해 걱정해야 한다. 무엇보다도 그들을 교육해야 할, 그리스도인 부모로서의 자신감을 회복해야 한다.
그리스도인 교육은 무흠한 자녀나 완벽한 자녀를 길러내는 것이 아니다. 그리스도인 부모들의 자녀 교양교육 목표는 ‘그리스도를 닮아가는 자녀’를 길러가야 하는 것이다. 동시에 부모의 능력의 한계를 인식하고 자녀와 더불어 협력관계 속에서 솔직하고도 협조적인 자녀 교육에 힘을 쏟아야 한다. 징계 위주나 인권을 무시하는 통속적이고 이교도적인 자녀 교육이 아니라, 성경에 입각한 자녀 교육이 무엇인지를 늘 고민해야 한다. 무엇보다도 그리스도인 부모들이 자녀를 잘 교육하기 위한 부모 훈련에 힘쓰고, 궁극적으로 자녀를 위하여 하나님의 도움을 간절히 요청해야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Paul says, “bring up with the education and admonition of the state.” But the education of children of Christian parents is not simple and easy. But that is a major issue that cannot be abandoned, delayed, or conceded. Especially, it is a more important issue in our reality that the next generation Christians are shrinking rapidly in the 21st century. Therefore, the importance of the education of the next generation of Christian parents is getting deeper. Therefore, we should worry about more fundamental child education, which goes beyond simple emotion or follow-up level Christian child education. Above all, we should recover our confidence as a Christian parent.
Christian education is not about raising innocent children or perfect children; the goal of Christian parents’ education is to raise children who ‘resemble Christ’. At the same time, we should recognize the limitations of parents" abilities and put our efforts into honest and cooperative child education in cooperation with our children. It is not a conventional and pagan child education that ignores discipline or human rights, but it should always worry about what is the education of children based on the Bible. Above all, Christian parents should strive to train their children to educate them well, and ultimately, they should ask for God"s help for their children.
