任敬周의 여성전에 나타난 작가의식 = Yim Kyung-ju' consciousness as a writer in the Jeon of women

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aim; to illuminate Yun Kyung-ju(l718-1745)'s consciousness as a writer by examining the world of Jeon(傳). Yim Kyung-ju wrote three women's Jeon <Maejookdang Yissijeon>, <Gulssijeon>, <Hassinyeojeon>. <Maejookdang Yissijeon> deals with friendship among women and describes the conversation between maejookdang and Ockjam. This subject is uncommon even throughout the entire Jeon of women. <Gulssijeon> dispicts a chinese woman who lived in Oiosun palace wishing that Chosun would conquer Cheong dynasty in the revenge for Myeong dynasty. <Hassinyeojeon> represents the collapse of traditional principle in that Hassi killed herself in the government yard to accuse her husband of killing her younger brother to whom she wanted to inherit her property.
During the Chosun dynasty, most works by other writers deals with women observing the traditional principles blindly and killing themselves after their husbands' death only to fulfil Confucian ideas.
Compared with them, Yim Kyung-ju's works represents the life of some independent women and shows the uncommon women's subjectivity. So, these women awaken men who became insensitive to what is right or wrong. Nevertheless, their lives end unhappily and tragically. This aspect reflects Yim Kyung-ju's understanding of his society.
