우리나라 제1차 금속제품산업의 부식비용 추정 = An Estimation of Corrosion Costs in Primary Metals Industry in Korea: Input-Output Approach

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 산업연관표를 이용하여 제1차 금속제품산업의 부식비용을 추정한 것이다. 분석결과 우리나라 제1차 금속제품산업의 부식비용은 2005년 기준 해당산업 GDP의 15.50%로 추정되었으며, 타산업과 비교할 때 부식비용이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 국가별로 비교하면 제1차 금속제품산업 GDP 대비 해당산업의 부식비용 비중이 한국은 15.50%(2005년), 미국은 5.87%(1998년), 일본은 18.25%(1997년)로 나타났다. 향후 관련 산업의 기술혁신, 생산성 향상, 다양한 비용절감 등을 통해 비용을 감소시키는 것이 제1차 금속제품산업의 경쟁력 강화의 주요과제가 될 것이다. 이 연구는 기존연구에서 간과되었던 부식으로 인한 사회적 비용에 주목하고 투입산출모형을 이용하여 해당산업의 부식비용을 추정하였으며, 이 연구의 결과가 향후 해당산업의 경쟁력 강화방안 논의의 기초자료로도 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to estimate the corrosion cost in primary metals industry in Korea using 2005 input-output tables. The difference between GDP of the economy as it exists and the economy as it would exist if corrosion did not exist determines the total cost of corrosion. Compare to the costs which were 5.87% of primary metals sector GDP(l998 base year) in U.S.A. and 18.25% of primary metals sector GDP(l997 base year) in Japan. the corrosion cost in primary metals industry in Korea was 15.50% of primary metals sector GDP(2005 base year) in Korea. These results will provide a basis for development of technological, legislative, and other initiatives to promote effective economic savings of corrosion costs.
