The flexible roll forming process makes it possible to produce profiles with a variable width by controlling the roll stands with CNC. This process is very important for the sheet metal industry due to the high speed fabrication of products having variable profile. In this study, the effect of on the forming length of the strip in the flexible roll forming process was investigated of material properties. In the flexible roll forming, the deformation length is important since they can be used to determine the number of forming steps and the distance between them when designing the roll forming process. In this study, the influence of material properties upon deformation length have been investigated and compared with by existing model by using finite element analysis and experiment. For the flexible roll forming experiments, symmetrical U-sections are formed by three materials such as advanced high strength steel (AHSS), carbon steel and aluminum.
