Thermo- and liquido- electric material (TLEM) is a matter in which electrons behave just like liquid or dense gas. Resistivity data of TLEM as a function of temperature show that the temperature coefficient is negative. This is called NTCR (Negative Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity). And also, TLEM has residual current similar to the persistent current of a superconductor. These phenomena of TLEM are easily explained by new theory of a superconductor, which is the ISB model of considering the superconducting phenomena as Fermi condensation process of electron gas.
Organic-inorganic hybrid material, (R-NH3)2PbI4 (R=butyl-, hexyl-, octyl- and decyl-amine), was chosen because of its superiority to organic or inorganic matter alone. And also, two attempts, which is based on the ISB model, have made on this material. One was a intercalation or adsorption of hydrogen gas to the material, and the other was an insertion of two types of alkylamines into inorganic sheets. Two types of alkylamines mean a combination of butylamine and other alkyamine(methyl-, hexyl-, octyl- and decyl-amine).
(R-NH3)2PbI4 and (R-NH3 + R′-NH3)2PbI4 were synthesized through a self-assembly method. The powder XRD measurements were performed to observe the change of the c-axis length of all samples. And resistivity data were collected over 273K ∼ 333.5K to investigate the change of NTCR ranges.
