An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of mannanoligosaccharide, yucca extract and β-glucan on growth performance, nutrients digestibility and amino acid digestibility and to develop antibiotics-free diet in growing pigs. A total of 150 crossbred pigs ((Landrace×Large White)×Duroc) initially averaging 19.09 ㎏ BW were used in this experiment for 42 days. The five dietary treatments were Antifree group (negative control, basal diet), Anti group (positive control, basal diet + 0.04% chlortetracycline, CTC-125^ⓡ JEIL VET. CHEM. Co. Ltd., CTC), MOS group (basal diet + 0.1% mannanoligosaccharide, BIO-MOS^ⓡ, Alltech Inc.), YE group (basal diet + 0.0125% yucca extract, Fibergest^ⓡ, P. S. F Organic Inc.) and GLC group (basal diet + 0.1% β-glucan, Macrogard^ⓡ, Biomaczymal Co., Norway). During day 0∼14, although there were no significant differences, Anti goup showed numerical advantage in the average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) compared to other treatments. During day 15∼28, Anti group also showed numerical improvement in weight gain and FCR compared to other treatments. During day 29∼42, Antifree group showed lower average daily feed intake (ADFI) than MOS group (P$lt;0.05). During day 0∼42, Antifree group also showed lower ADFI than MOS group (P$lt;0.05). Anti group showed lower FCR than MOS group (P$lt;0.05).
Among all the treatments, there were no significant differences in the digestibility of dry matter, gross energy, crude protein and crude fat. However MOS group improved (P$lt;0.05) the phosphorus and ash digestibility.
The digestibility of essential amino acids was significantly affected (P$lt;0.05) by treatments except that of threonine, leucine and lysine.
The digestibility of non-essential amino acids was significantly affected by treatments except that of glutamate, alanine and total non-essential amino acid (P$lt;0.05).
Total feed cost per total weight gain was lower in Anti group than MOS and GLC group (P$lt; 0.05). YE group also showed lower (P$lt;0.05) TFC/TWG compared Eo MOS and GLC groups.
