기독교 목회자들의 연령세대에 따른 상담유형 연구 : 한국교회 목회자들의 상담유형에 관한 연구

국문초록 기독교 목회자들의 연령세대에 따른 상담유형 연구 내가 상담학을 처음 공부할 당시인 1986년도에는 Jay E. Adams의 권면적 상담이 전부인줄 알았다. 합동 측 교단 신학교가 선택한 상담학 교재이기 때문이기도 하겠지만 당시의 한국교회의 목회유형에서는 권위주의적 목회자가 선망의 대상이었고, 권면적상담은 당시의 목회유형과 유사했기 때문에 더욱 친숙했는지 모른다. 그러나 시대의 흐름과 함께 목회의 유형이 변하면서 인간중심 상담 즉 사람이 중심이 되는 상담에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 것 같다. 평신도중심 목회가 보편화 된 지금의 목회유형에서 상담에 대한 새로운 인식과 발견을 하게 되는 것은 다행한 일이다. 그것이 Adams의 권면적 상담, 지시적 상담과는 관점이 다른 Carl R. Rogers의 사람중심 상담, 내담자중심 상담이다. Rogers는 인간마다 현실을 각기 달리 지각하고 주관적인 경험이 행동을 지배한다고 믿었기 때문에 외부현실 보다는 오히려 내부적인 경험에 의해 상호작용하며 이끌어 진다는 것이다. 또 하나는 Lawrence J. Crabb의 성경적 상담과 격려를 통한 상담이다. Crabb은 효과적인 상담은 돌보는 관계(Caring relationship)와 인간 기능의 이해를 요구한다고 말하며 상처받은 사람에게 연민의 태도를 증가 시켜서 관심을 갖는데 달려 있다.는 것이다. Gary R. Collins는 '하나님께서 모든 진리의 원천이 되신다.'는 전제를 하면서도 지시적 상담과 비지시적 상담의 균형, 신학과 심리학의 통합과 같은 융통성이 있는 상담을 소개한다. 이렇게 서로 다른 상담유형이 목회자들에게 어떻게 적용되고 있는지에 대하여 알고 싶었다. 이와 같은 다양한 상담유형에서 공통적으로 요구하는 것이 있다. 그것은 상호작용과 인간관계와 의사소통이다. 나는 한국의 대표적인 교회 목회자들의 상담의식과 상담목회에 대한 관심을 알아보기 위하여 지난 2008년 9월22일(월)-9월25일(목) 제93회 제주 총회에 참석했다. 이 기간을 선택한 이유는 제주 100주년 기념 총회 이므로 합동, 통합, 합신, 기장 등 4개 교단의 대표들이 참석하는 현장이었기 때문이다. 여기서 ‘한국교회 목회자들의 상담의식 조사조사’에 관련한 설문을 했다. 이것이 한국교회로서의 대표성이 있을지는 모르지만 연합예배에 참석한 목사 364명이 응답해 주었고, 그 응답에 대한 자료를 본 논문에 참고자료로 사용하고자 한다. 설문에 참여한 대상은 합동 190명, 통합 129명, 합신 32명, 기장 13명 등 4개 교단이지만 주로 합동과 통합 교단의 총대중심으로 설문이 되었다. 여기서 한국교회 목회자의 상담유형이 목회상담의 요구인 상호작용과 인간관계 그리고 의사소통과 어떤 관계가 있는지를 알아보고 싶었다. 목회방향과 어떤 관계가 있는지, 세대와 어떤 관계가 있는지를 쉽게 알아보기 위하여 도표를 그려 인용했다. 논문에서 질문된 배경으로는 먼저 40대, 50대, 60대로 세대 분류를 했다. 그 이유는 시대의 흐름과 세대의 관심에 따라 목회방향과 상담유형이 달리 나타나고 있는 만큼 세대가 상담유형에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지를 먼저 알고자 했기 때문이다. 그리고 현재의 목회 현장에서 상담에 대한 관심이 얼마나 있는지, 그리고 상담의 우선순위는 무엇인지를 물었다. 그 결과를 통하여 과거의 신학교육과 현재의 신학교육의 차이가 목회의 방향에 미치는 영향이 무엇인지를 알고, 이것을 통하여 상담목회에 대한 구체적인 현실과 상담목회에 대한 새로운 전망을 제시하고자 하는 것이 목적이다. 세대에 따른 상담유형의 상관관계에서 목사 364명을 대상으로 설문해 본 결과 40대 목회자는 경청과 수용 즉 상호작용을 선택했고, 50대 목회자는 격려와 공감 즉 인간관계에 민감했다. 그리고 60대 목회자는 일방적으로 이끌어 가는 권면과 지시형태의 상담유형을 보면서 의사소통이 필요하다는 것을 알았다. 목회상담의 요구가 상담유형에 미치는 영향이 다른 것처럼, 세대별로 선택하고 있는 상담유형이 형성된 배경을 알아보고자 한다. 그래서 목회상담의 요구와 세대에 따른 상담유형을 서로 적용시키는 연구를 통하여 상담목회에 대한 새로운 대안을 제시하고 목회상담에 대한 긍정적 전망을 해 보고자 한다. ABSTRACT A Study On The Counseling types Of Korean Pastors LEE, EUK-HEE Department of Pastoral Counseling Graduate School of Soongsil University In 1986 when I started the consultation, I considered there was nothing but the Nouthetic counseling of Jay E. Adams. Probably, it might be familiar because authoritarian pastors were the object of envy and the Nouthetic counseling was similar to the pastoral types in Korean churches as well as that textbook was chosen by the joined religious fraternity's seminary. However, as the pastoral types have changed with time flows, it seems that the man-focused counseling, that is the counseling around people, is gathering much more interest. Since the pastoral activities around lay believers has been generalized, it is fortunate to get the new recognition and discovery from the nowadays pastoral type. That is the Nouthetic counseling of Adams, the People-centered counseling or the Client-centered counseling of Carl R. Rogers with the different point of view of the Directive counseling. Because Rogers believed that every person recognizes reality by their relative viewpoint and their objective experiences control behaviors, he considered that there is interaction effect by the interior experience, rather than exterior reality. The other thing is the counseling through the Biblical counseling of Lawrence J. Crabb and encouraging. Crabb insists that the effectiveness of counseling depends on counsellor's interest with the increased sympathy toward the hurted person, considering that the effective counseling requires the Caring relationship. Gary R. Collins introduces the adaptable counseling such as the balance between the directional counseling and the non-directional counseling, with the premise of that 'God is the source of all truth,' and the integration of theology and psychology. I have wished to find out how it is adapted by pastors with different types of counseling. There is commonly required factor in these various counseling types. That is, the interaction, relationship and communication. To find out the interest of representative pastor in some representative Korean churches toward counseling awareness and counseling pastoral duties, I have participated in the 93rd Jeju Assembly through September 22(Monday)-25(Thursday), 2008. The reason why I have chosen this period was that it was the moment that the represents from 4 different religious fraternities including Joint, Integration, Hapsin, Gijang etc. since it was the assembly celebrating the 100th anniversary of Jeju. As explained about the research for the pastoral counseling as one of the alternatives for the growth of Korean churches to the sponsors, the questionnaires related to 'the research for the counseling consciousness of pastors in Korean churches' were distribute to 1,500 pastors. Even though whether this assembly would have the representative features or not is not clear, the data from that questionnaire is going to be utilized for this essay as reference since 364 pastors of them replied to that sincerely. The survey has been around the general assembly of Joint and Integration mainly, even though there were 190 from the Joint, 129 from the Integration, 32 from the Hapsin and 13 from the Gijang. Through this survey, the relation of pastoral counseling types of Korean churches with the interaction of the pastoral counseling request and even communication were needed to be found out. To understand the relation with the pastoral direction and the relation with generation, a table has been drawn to be utilized. For the surroundings asked in the essay, the classification with generation in 40's, 50's and 60's has been executed. Because the influence of generation on the counseling type should be understood, since the pastoral direction and counseling types are presented differently along with the flow of age and the interest of generation. And also, the degree of their own interest on counseling at the present pastoral site and their priorities in counseling has been asked. It was the goal to understand the influence on the pastoral direction with the differences between the past theological education and the present one and to suggest the detailed reality for the counseling pastoral work and the new prospect for that. In the co-relations of the counseling types with generations, the pastors in their 40's chose the listening and acceptance, that is interaction, and the pastors in their 50's were found out to be sensitive at the encouragement and sympathy, that is relationship as the result of survey with 364 pastors. And as examining that the pastors in their 60's shows their encouraging and directional tendency as the counseling type, the necessity of communication has been assured. As the requirement toward the pastoral counseling affects different influences on the counseling types, the background for those different types of counseling would be studied. Therefore, through the study adapting the needs for the pastoral counseling and the counseling types with generations mutually, it will suggest new alternative idea on the counseling pastoral activities and positive prospect for the pastoral counseling.
