In this paper, we provide a comprehensive quantitative analysis of the dynamic competition/cooperation relationships among major ports in Korea and China. Utilizing time series models, the analysis shows that competition/cooperation equilibrium relationship does not stand in the Korea/China ports relationships in the long run, Korean ports generally have competitive relationships with their Chinese counterparties in the long-run. But in the short-run, the competition/cooperation relationships are mixed. While most Korean-Chinese port pairs have complementary relationship in the short-run, there are a non-trivial proportion of cases in which they react competitively.

본 연구는 공급사슬 재무 메커니즘의 한 형태, 즉 한국 정부에 의해 촉진된 대·중소기업 간의 협력 추진 전략이 운전 자본 개선의 측면에서 (특히 중소기업에 대해) 효과가 있는지를, 대기업 공급자들로부터 직접 수집된 자료를 통하여 분석하였다. 기업 고정 효과 모형을 이용하여 얻은 실증적인 분석 결과는, 독립 기업에 비해, 대기업의 공급자가 기업의 운전 자본 조건을, 운전자본비율, 또는 현금화 사이클 양 측면에서 모두 개선하는 것을 나타내었다. In this paper, we examine whether a special form of SCF mechanism, the one promoted by Korean government through its large firms/SMEs cooperation promotion strategy, has real effects in terms of working capital improvement (especially for SMEs) using a hand collected sample of suppliers for large companies. After controling for potential endogeniety problems by utilizing firm fixed effect model, our empirical results show that compared to standalone firms, being supplier for large companies will improve firm``s working capital condition, either for working capital ratio or for Cash-to-Cash Cycle. And the improvement degree is both statistically and economically significant.
