The purposes of this study were to measure the index values of plantar foot pressure applied on both legs in standing position and to explore if there was correlation with low back pain, and further to examine the reliability of digital feet scanning devices. A total 125 college students(50 male students and 75 female students, aged from 20 to 29) participated this study. The foot plantar pressures were measured by AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner. The reliability of AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner was measured by two inspectors. Index values of plantar foot pressure measured at standing position were higher in the low back pain group then the normal population. Hereupon, it has been confirmed that back ache influenced on the plantar foot pressure. There was also a correlation between low back pain and foot pressure(r = 0.93, p < 0.01). There was also correlation between foot pressure and pain in standing position(r = 0.47, p < 0.01). In addition, according to the result of reliability on the AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner, measured SEM was 3.22 on both groups along with MAD of 1.98±0.14 on each group as well. In addition, two groups had the same ICC3,1 as 0.75. In addition, it has been identified that there was a high reliability on the AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+Digital foot scanner by examining variables other than ICC3,1. This study showed a higher plantar in standing position under imbalanced condition. Therefore, it suggests maintaining a proper posture and precaution with exercise through education in a daily life. In addition, the results and methodology of this study could be served as a criteria used for measuring and evaluating postural imbalance of college students.

Our research pertains to how much change occurs to the subjective symptoms of patients who had been treated with chiropractic care. In this research, we have given chiropractic care to 100 patients - male and female, who had been undergoing “stiff neck” as a subjective symptom - and received valid result s from 91 of them. After treating them with chiropractic adjustments only once or twice, changes in the Pain Scale(PS) of their subjective symptoms was seen in 90% of the patients. We have concluded that chiropractic care had been an effective treatment for the improvement of subjective symptom as “stiff neck”. The average score of improvement in PS was 2.1.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of chiropractic manipulative therapy and low back exercise on lumbar lodortic angle, gravity line, ROM, and pain degree in university students using a commuter bus. In the present study, thirty participants who use a commuter bus and complain of low back pain were randomly divided into the chiropractic group and the exercise group. We provided chiropractic care for fifteen participants in the chiropractic group twice per week, and low back exercise for fifteen participants in the exercise group three times per week for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, we compared the lumbar lodortic angle, gravity line, lumbar range of motions (ROMs), and pain degree scale between pre- and post-tests. In the present results, both chiropractic manipulative therapy and low back exercise significantly improved lumbar ROMs, and alleviated low back pain. From these results, it can be inferred that chiropractic manipulative therapy and low back exercise may be beneficial for university students with low back pain using a commuter bus.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the idiopathic scoliosis and plantar pressure index. Ninety~six candidates visited a Hanseo University Oriental Hospital performed whole spine X-ray to divide into scoliosis or non-scoliosis groups. Scoliosis group was comprised of forty-one members and non-scoliosis group was comprised of fifty-five members. Cobb s angle was measured by XmaruChiro software and plantar pressure index was obtained by 3D BodyViewTM Imaging System. All the data was compiled and corrected, and then the data was inputted into the IBM SPSS Statistics 19 program for analysis. The study showed that the correlation coefficient between scoliosis and plantar pressure index appeared as a positive value(p < 0.05). Idiopathic scoliosis patients with a spinal curvature of greater than 10° had a lower arch of the foot. In conclusion, plantar pressure index should be useful in diagnosing and efficient treatment plan for scoliosis patients.

This study is about the effect chiropractic correction has on the changes in attention cathexis. A total of 20 who are currently students at Hanseo University were selected. The study measured changes in the score for the attention cathexis ability and the changes in delta wave, theta wave, alpha wave, SMR, BetaL wave, and BetaH wave of the prefrontal lobe. The changes in brainwaves of the prefrontal lobe and the score of the attention cathexis ability for the false procedure before and after the treatment did not show much difference statistically(p>.05). The chiropractic correction group showed statistically meaningful results of the decrease of delta wave, theta wave, and BetaH, and the increase of alpha wave, SMR, and BetaL on the left side(p<.05). The decrease of delta wave, theta wave, and BetaH, and the increase of alpha wave, SMR, and BetaL on the right were statistically meaningful as well(p<.05). The increase in the score of the attention cathexis ability was significant statistically as well(p<.05). The chiropractic correction affected the increase of the attention cathexis ability.
