        한국 청소년 구강건강상태 및 행태와 학교구강보건 교육경험과의 관련성

        Objectives: This study aimed to examine the factors that affect the school-based oral health education in adolescents. Methods: This study was analyzed using data from the Korea youth risk behavior web-based survey in 2017. A total of 62,276 adolescents participated. The collected data was analyzed using the chi-square test, and logistic regression using SPSS, version 21.0. Results: Among the general factors related to oral health education in schools, male students experienced 1.14 times more oral health education in schools compared to female students, and middle school students experienced 1.81 times more oral health education than other students (p <0.001). With respect to oral health status, the groups without tooth fractures, pain during mastication, or gum pain and bleeding experienced 1.18 times, 0.95 times, and 1.03 times more oral health education in schools, respectively, compared to the group with complaints (p<0.001)(p<0.05). With respect to oral heath behavior, the group that brushed after lunch ‘sometimes’ during the last seven days received 1.43 times more oral health education compared to the group that ‘always’brushed after lunch . Conclusions: It is necessary to supplement, extend, and strengthen oral health education programs in schools as well as motivate and recognize such programs.

        치위생과 학생의 자아탄력성과 자기효능감이 전공만족도에미치는 영향

        Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of self-resilience andself-efficiency on the satisfaction with major in dental hygiene students. Methods : The data were analyzed by the frequency analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan post-hocanalysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. The subjects were 411dental hygiene students in A University in Gyeongsangbuk-do and K-University inGyeongsangnam-do from November 4 to 15, 2013. Results : The satisfaction with major in dental hygiene students showed the positive correlationwith self-resilience and self-efficiency. Multiple regression analysis revealed the optimistic attitudetowards the self-resilience and self-efficiency. The explanation power was 13%. Conclusions : The self-resilience and self-efficiency had a positive effect on the satisfactionwith major. It is necessary to develop the program that can help increase the self-resilience andself-efficiency, and apply such program to the curricula.

        서울 M 고등학교 학생들의 구강보건교육에 대한 성취도 및 유효도

        Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to apply an oral health education program to the high school students, to analyze their oral health knowledge and changes of behaviors, and to examine oral health education for effective, thus using all of those results as the basic data for developing materials on their oral health education. Methods: The study was conducted on the freshmen and women of M high student in Seoul City. They were in total 85 student, consisting of 77 of male student(90.6%) and 8 of female student(9.4%). Knowledge survey contained 38 questions including such as dental common knowledge, dental caries, and periodontal disease, while behaviors survey did 24 questions including such as tooth-brushing, brush selection and management, and prevention of oral disease. Results: First, oral health education had brought to improve oral health knowledge for high school students. Second, even with the improvement of oral health behaviors through the education, there was not statistically significant on behaviors such as the regular checkups and the usage of dental floss. And third, the students in general were satisfied with the oral health education. Conclusions: First, the oral health education being conducted in kindergarten and elementary school should be continued or expanded into the adolescence. Second, the oral health education should be focused efficiently on the learning objective demanding for a change of behavior through the repeated education, for which the education that is right for the high school students should be done. And third, for the effective oral health education in high school, the media that could cause interests should be developed. (J Korean Soc Dent Hygiene 2011;11(5):801-809)

        구강보건교육 전,후 지식향상 비교효과 연구: 온라인과 오프라인에서 외국인 유학생들을 대상으로

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate comparison of the effectiveness on knowledge improvement before and after the oral health education focusing on foreign students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 40 foreign students in Sun Moon University from June 2 to September 30, 2014. The experimental group had an online oral health education and the control group had an off line education. The questionnaire consisted of oral health(10 items), tooth brushing(10 items), dental caries(10 items), periodontal disease(5 items), tooth sensitivity(5 items), oral cancer(6 items), and smoking(5 items). The data were analyzed by SPSS Win 18.0 program. Results: Knowledge scores of online education increased to average 1.257 points, and that of offline education was average of 2.56 points. There were statistically significant results for tooth brushing, dental caries, periodontal disease, tooth sensitivity, oral cancer and TMD except for smoking in offline education group. Conclusions: This study suggests that the offline oral health education is more effective than online oral health education.

        일 개 대학 치위생과 학생들의 노인관련 경험이 노인에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of elderly-related experience on attitude toward elderly in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 213 dental hygiene students in Suwon from November 21 to 30, 2012. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, elderly-related experience, knowledge on elderly, and attitude toward elderly by Likert 7 points scale. The instrument for knowledge on elderly was adapted from facts on aging quiz-Iby Palmore and modified by Kim et al. Data were analyzed by t test, one way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The attitude toward the elderly was 2.79±0.42. The elderly-related experience had a positive influence on the attitude toward elderly(p=0.019) according to the level of experiencing the elderly(r=0.161, p<0.05). The influence of elderly-related experience on attitude toward the elderly showed that an experiencing variable is key factor in predicted variable of the attitude toward the elderly(=0.177 p=0.015). Conclusions: Elderly-related experience had an effect on positive attitude toward the elderly people in the dental hygiene students. It is necessary to develop and implement the education program for the exact knowledge and attitude toward the elderly.

        일부 유치원 및 보육시설 유아교사의 구강보건교육 유무에 따른 구강보건교육 및 치아우식예방효과 인식

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate cognition on oral health education and dental caries preventive effect in kindergartens and child care facilities. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 260 teachers in kindergartens and nursery facility in Daejeon from January to February, 2013. Except incomplete answers, 248 questionnaires were analyzed by using the statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: High intention to participate in oral health education was shown in the teachers who experienced the oral health education. Dental caries preventive effect included correct tooth brushing, fluoride dentifrice, fluoride mouth rinse, and use of xylitol. The teachers agreed that the fluoride mouth rinses would help good oral health in the children. Conclusions: Teachers in kindergartens and nursery facility are the most important persons in childhood oral health care. So it is necessary to provide the continuing standardized education for the teachers systematically.

        일부 선진국 치과위생사의 교육제도, 자격인증제도 및 업무범위

        Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the education, certification system, and extent of duty of dental hygienist between Korea and five developed countries including United States, Canada, England, Australia, and Japan. Methods : Internet based access to five developed countries was made and the analysis was done for the definition of occupation, main duties, similar occupations, education policy, job descriptions, license certification system, standards of duty, Q & A management, current status of obtaining certification, and scope of work. Results : United States has a two-year associate degree(AS) and a four-year bachelor degree(BS). Canada has two to three years degree and a two-year course is accepted in england and Australia. In the meanwhile, Korea and Japan have two-year and four-year educational courses. The duty of dental hygienists includes the prevention education for dental health and continuing dental health care. Most of the dental hygienists in Korea and Japan play the assistant roles for the dental surgeons. United States has national board examinations including written examinations, practical examinations, and computer assisted examination. Written and practical examinations are also conducted in Korea. England and Australia have the recognized educational organizations for qualification. Conclusions : Problem based and problem solving skills are the most important in dental hygienist education in Korea. The training of highly competent dental hygienists must be done for the improvement of dental hygiene in Korea in the near future.

        치위생과 학생들의 스마트폰 중독이 대인관계에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of smart phone addiction on personal relationship in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 475 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggido and Chungcheongdo from May 9 to June 10, 2016. Except incomplete questionnaire, data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 program. The instruments consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, smartphone addiction, and personal relationship. Results: The percentage of smart phone was 23.0% in a risk group and 77.0% in a general group. The level of smartphone had a statistically significant difference with personal relationship(p<0.05). Smartphone addiction resulted in bad personal relationship. Conclusions: Smartphone addiction problem interrupts personal relationship. It is very important to reduce smart phone addiction through a variety of solution.

        치위생과 학생이 인식하는 좋은 수업에 대한 중요도와 만족도 차이분석

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to suggest an effective instruction method for dental hygiene students by determining the degree of importance and satisfaction that they attach to the courses. Methods: Data obtained from a survey that was conducted on 654 dental hygiene students were analyzed. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 23.0 was used for the statistical analysis. A paired t-test was conducted to detect the differences between the degree of importance that the respondents attached to the courses and the degree of satisfaction they achieved. A comparative analysis of the two was performed using the IPA analysis. Results: Regarding the items, the respondents found the environment most important, followed by the content, method, perspective, and assessment. Regarding satisfaction, they were most satisfied with the environment, followed by the perspective, method, content, and assessment. Regarding the importance of ideal teaching, the respondents gave the highest priority to ‘a class in which the core content is summarized, emphasized, and explained.’ The satisfaction was the highest toward ‘PowerPoint-based classes in which the core content is well-organized.’ Based on the results of the IPA analysis, the respondents regarded 16 items as requiring maintenance and continuous efforts, 12 items as low priority, and 4 items as requiring excessive efforts and timely improvement. Conclusions: An ideal class requires the instructor to utilize various teaching methods that would enable the students to comprehend the detailed teaching content and elicit active interaction and feedback from the students through easy-to-understand lectures that are appropriate for students.

        일부 치위생과 학생의 학습윤리실태와 관련 요인

        Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the related factors of learning ethics of dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 278 dental hygiene students in G metropolitan city from June 9 to July 29, 2016. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, percentage and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS 12.0 program. The questionnaire comprised learning ethics (10 items), condition of learning ethics (10 items), reason of plagiarism (8 items), intellectual property right consciousness (8 items), internet ethics consciousness (20 items), individual ethics consciousness (2 items). Results: Condition of learning ethics was higher in mosaic plagiarism (33.9%). The main reason of plagiarism was higher in lack of time (52.7%). Related factors with the intellectual property right consciousness was use of reference (β=0.424), internet expectancy (β=0.228) and parental rearing attitude (β=0.229) (Adjusted R<sup>2</sup>=0.336). Related factors with the internet ethics consciousness were parental rearing attitude (β=-0.241), academic achievements (β=0.420), internet expectancy (β=-0.368) and grade (β=-0.154)(Adjusted R 2 =0.390). Related factor with the individual ethics consciousness was academic achievements (β=0.445) (Adjusted R<sup>2</sup> =0.192). Conclusions: To increase the learning ethics and preventing plagiarism, it is necessary to have essential understanding and practice to make the liberal arts education and extracurricular program of institutions.
