The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning that the various child care activities with parental involvement have for parents, teachers, and infants at the open child care center. For this purpose, the study has the following research questions. Research Question 1. What are the types and effects of parental involvement programs in open day care centers? Research Question 2. What are the meaning of the parenting program of an open day care center for the research participants? The research subjects are 6 mothers, 4 teachers, and 20 infants who participated in the child care activities with parental involvement at “H” Child Care Center that this researcher run in “K” City in Gyeonggi Province. Between the fourth week of September 2017 and the third week of April 2018, the subjects were interviewed as individuals or in groups. Transcripts were created from the records based on the on-site observations and the recorded interviews, before the data was coded and categorized by topic. To improve the validity of the research, the completed analysis shared its results with the research participants and went through a test for any errors. The results of this research are as follows : First, the major programs with parental involvement are the activity for building basic trust through communicating with the parents of the prospective children for the child care center, the orientation in getting to know the child care center, various class helpers for sharing the daily schedule of the child care center and understanding child care, the small group parental education that shares and exchanges information on smartly raising children, and the operating committee that serves as the decision-maker for the child care center. Second, the mothers came to understand the child care activities conducted at the child care center and their characteristics through the activities with parental involvement and thereby place trust in them. Thus, they came to acknowledge the teachers’ grievances and seek cooperation. The more the teachers experienced the daily routine of the activities with parental involvement, the more committed and proud they came to feel as teachers because their initial sense of burden lessened and their communication with the parents became more active. Thus, the parents and teachers felt that the infants’ total development was facilitated when they felt emotional security and experienced various social relationships. This study planned and implemented various types of activities with parental involvement and analyzed their effects. It showed that the child care activities with parental involvement played a crucial part in building trust by sharing with the parents who had concern about child abuse the opportunity to experience the daily schedule at the child care center and improving the quality of child care environment through cooperation with families. 본 연구의 목적은 열린 어린이집에서 실행하는 다양한 부모 참여 활동을 통해 부모와 교사, 영아에게 주는 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 연구문제 1. 열린 어린이집의 부모 참여 프로그램의 유형과 효과는 어떠한가? 연구문제 2. 열린 어린이집의 부모 참여 프로그램이 연구 참여자에게 주는 의미는 무 엇인가? 연구 참여자는 본 연구자가 운영하고 있는 경기도 K 시에 소재한 하온 어린이집의 열린 어린이집 부모 참여 활동에 참여한 영아의 어머니 6명, 보육교사 4명, 영아 20명이다. 2017년 9월 4주부터 2018년 4월 3주까지 개별 및 집단 면담을 실시하였고 현장을 관찰하였다. 현장을 관찰한 기록과 녹취된 면담 내용을 바탕으로 전사본을 만든 후 자료를 주제별로 코딩하고 범주화하였다. 연구의 타당성을 높이기 위해 분석을 마친 후 연구 참여자들에게 연구결과를 공유하고 오류가 있는지 검증 과정을 거쳤다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모 참여 프로그램의 유형은 크게 예비 신입 원아 부모와 소통하며 기초 신뢰를 형성하기 위한 활동, 어린이집을 알아가는 오리엔테이션, 어린이집 일상을 함께 하며 보육을 이해하는 다양한 수업 도우미, 자녀를 현명하게 키우기 위해 정보를 나누고 함께 교류하는 소그룹 부모교육, 어린이집의 의사결정자로서의 운영위원회이다. 둘째, 어머니들은 부모 참여 활동을 통해 어린이집에서 이루어지는 보육활동과 특징을 이해하여 신뢰를 형성하게 되었고, 교사의 어려움을 공감하며 협력을 도모하게 되었다. 교사는 일상적 성격을 띤 부모 참여 활동을 경험할수록 시행 초기에 느꼈던 부담감이 낮아지고 부모와의 소통이 적극적으로 이루어져 교사로서 사명감과 자부심을 느꼈다. 이로 인해 영아는 정서적인 안정감을 느끼고 다양한 사회관계를 경험하여 전인적인 발달에 도움을 받는 것으로 부모와 교사가 인식하고 있었다. 본 연구는 다양한 여러 유형의 부모 참여 활동을 위해 계획, 실행한 후 그 의미를 탐색하였다. 열린 어린이집 부모 참여 활동은 아동학대로 인해 불안해하는 부모에게 보육 일상 경험의 기회를 공유함으로써 신뢰를 높이고 가정과의 협력을 통해 보육 환경을 질적으로 향상시키는데 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.
