Myo-inositol plays a key role in plant development and growth. Conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to myo-inositol-1-phosphate is the first committed step in myo-inositol biosynthesis. Methylation and isomerization of myo-inositol forms 0-methyl inositols (ononitol, pinitol, etc.) which participate in abiotic stress related reponses, storage of seed products, and production of inositol-glycosides. Upon salinity stress, an 0-methyl transferase methylates C4 of myo-inositol then produces ononitol. The next step is epimerization of Cl of ononitol by ononitol epimerase then produces pinitol. However, there has been no report about the ononitol epimerase in plant yet. We have searched salinity inducible ESTs which were homologous with the NAD-dependent epimerase from the soybean EST data base. We have chosen one putative ononitol epimerase EST and sequenced the full-length cDNA. The putative ononitol epimerase cDNA was cloned into E. coli expression vector pET15b and we have checked the substrate of this putative ononitol epimerase, and found out that the substrate was ononitol by GC-FID. The transcripts level of the ononitol epimerase gene under the salinity condition was also checked.

Molecular weights and molecular charges of soybean 7S protein rich fraction (PRF) were analyzed by Ferguson plot during the chungkuk-jang fermentation. After 24 hours of the fermentation, 7S PRF were reduced to the components with low molecular weights and molecular charges. At 48 hours of the fermentation, various fragments of soybean proteins with different molecular sizes and charges were detected in Triton X-100 solution. Soluble amino groups of fermented 7S PRF were high after 24 and 48 hours of the fermentation in various pH including the isoelectric point of soybean proteins.

We isolated abs87521 mutant for the study of antibiotics synthesis regulation. The production of the four different antibiotics was almost completely blocked in this mutant, therefore the mutation seems occured at the unique site which regulate the antibiotics synthesis simultaneously instead of four independent separate mutation an each four different antibiotic synthesis gene clusters. Futhermore, we can demonstrate the mutation was located at single locus by genetic mapping techniques. The abs87521 locus was around 10 o'clock region which is near to the absA. However abs87521 was not complemented by cloned absA gene, so abs87521 seems not a allele of absA. In the attempt to clone the abs87521 gene, we made the chromosomal wild type DNA library linked to the pIJ702 plasmid and seek for the clone which restore the production of antibiotics to abs87521 mutant. In thes attempt we isolated several plasmid clones. Among them P1-α6 has increased the antibiotic synthesis ability upto tow fold compare to wild type.

Plastics heater was fabricated with conductive polyaniline as a resistive heating material. The fabrication procedures for conducting polymer heating elements were developed. Electrical conductivities of polyaniline film were in the range of 6 S/㎠ ~ 8 S/㎠. The electrical characteristics of plastics heater were analyzed. The heating elements could be heated up to the surface temperature of 75 ℃.

School lunches provide a nutritious diet that contains at least 1/3 of the daily Recommended Dietary Allowances of necessary nutrients at reasonable prices. This study was performed to assess the nutritional management of middle and high school meals, and to provide basic data for improvement of school meal nutritional guidelines. One hundred and fifty two dietitians who worked at middle and high schools were recruited using a stratified sampling method. A survey was done by e-mail with a set of questionnaires about nutritional meal management. During school lunch planning, dietitians referred nutrition standards with priority, followed by students' food preferences and food hygiene. They considered energy as a most important nutrient during primary school lunch planning, followed by protein and calcium. Protein is usually over-served, whereas iron, vitamin A and calcium are usually under-served during school meal planning. School dietitians proposed that remodeling of school kitchens and new cooking machine were the most important factors for improving school lunch system.

Some combinatorial problems, especially, related on large scale structural problems are described in terms of randomness, which makes natural to state and research' on the problems with probabilistic method. The structural properties are described by the results of concentration problems, especially, of ones with large deviations. In this paper, we look for inequalities explaining large deviations.

At the beginning nucleolus scatters around the nuclear membrane, it changed the shape of nuclear membrane near the scattered nucleolus. SER synthesized either from the free ribosomes originated from the nucleolus in a directly contact with the nuclear membrane or from the free ribosomes originated from the nucleolus with nuclear membrane, which separated entirely from the nuclear or also from the free ribosomes originated from the free scattered nucleolus in the cytoplasm or from already synthesized tiny RNAs before the nuclear envelop begins to change. p-proteins were synthesized also from already synthesized small RNAs or from separated free ribosomes, which originated from the nucleolus after the destruction of nucleus membrane.
